What are the key milestones for your project?

6. Project extensions

If your project team feels that they need more time to collaborate, you can apply for an extension (and it is super easy!). To apply for an extension of your current project, please complete the Project Submission Form and select that you are applying for an extension. These submissions will be reviewed by the SSP Projects Team each round and are subject to available funding.

Project extensions are suitable for teams that wish to continue collaborating on their partnership project beyond their current round. If you need more time to complete your current project tasks or wish to extend the scope of your project, you can apply for an extension.

Key requirements include:

  • Should be submitted within a year of your previous SSP project concluding;
  • Must be lodged prior to the closing date of the selected round;
  • Must be on the same topic area (i.e. if you wish to collaborate on a completely new topic, you will need to submit a new project idea);
  • Cannot be used as a means to ‘employ’ students;
  • Student Partners on the extension (and thus receiving the grant) must be enrolled in a UQ program for the entirety of the extension.
  • Teams are required to complete all reporting for their project extension (including deed polls, co-developed project plan and retrospective report).

Some of the benefits of applying for an extension are that you won't need to provide as much detail as a new project submission and you may not need to attend an induction depending if you are recruiting new student partners.

Extension Scenario Induction Requirements
