So you've decided you want to apply for a semester-based exchange!
Before you start the application process make sure you have confirmed that you are eligible and know where you want to go.
If you are having difficulty at any stage of the application process, please contact an Internships and Global Experiences Coordinator for help. Do not contact your host institution directly as all enquiries must be made through Global Experiences until you are formally accepted.
9. Apply to the host university
Host university application processes vary. Your UQ Internships and Global Experiences Coordinator will contact you via your UQ student email address regarding your specific host university's application process.
When completing your application, ensure that you have attached all requested supporting documentation.
Supporting documentation may include:
- proof of finances (eg. a bank statement)
- proof of vaccinations or other medical requirements
- your official UQ academic transcript
- an academic reference
- a personal statement
- your resume
- a passport-sized photo (40mm x 50mm)
Your host university will make the final decision regarding your admission. This process can take up to 3 months after the host university application deadline.
Exchange deadlines
Application for Exchange in UQ Semester 1:
Open: 24 April (for Semester 1 of the following year)
Close: 31 May (for Semester 1 of the following year)
Application for Exchange in UQ Semester 2:
Open: 24 September (for Semester 2 of the following year)
Close: 31 October (for Semester 2 of the following year)
