Once you have been accepted to participate in a short-term experience, it’s time to prepare for your experience to start!
For students participating in-person please read every step carefully.
For students participating virtually some of the steps below will not apply.
Work your way through the IGET Pre-departure Essentials Checklist to help you prepare.
Below you'll also find some tips to help you make the most of your experience while ensuring you keep safe and healthy while overseas.
6. Flights and accommodation
We do not recommend that you purchase plane tickets until you receive credit approval from Faculty, an official acceptance letter from the host and the appropriate visa for your short-term experience.
Once accepted into the short-term experience program, your host should provide you with information on accommodation choices and application instructions. It is your responsibility to secure accommodation for the duration of your experience.
You are strongly advised to apply for accommodation managed by your host program, if available, and to apply as soon as possible in order to secure a place. If you have any further queries regarding accommodation options for your short-term experience it is best to contact the host university directly.
