To participate in a short-term global experience, you must meet a number of eligibility criteria.
Make sure you meet the eligibility criteria before applying for a short-term global experience.
To be eligible to participate in a short-term global experience you must:
- select an experience from the supported experiences list
- be enrolled and taking classes in a degree program at UQ in the semester before the experience
- have completed at least six (6) units at UQ in your current UQ program
- have a minimum cumulative GPA of 4.0, as shown on your UQ studies report
- have at least two (2) UQ units remaining in your current UQ program
- meet any other published eligibility requirements relevant to the nominated short-term experience
- agree to UQ's Internships and Global Experiences Terms and Conditions
- meet 'Additional Eligibility Criteria' outlined below for applicable programs
Students will not be permitted to undertake a Short-Term Global Experience at the same host institution more than once.
It is your responsibility to confirm that you meet the eligibility criteria and complete the relevant application procedure with your preferred host. The experience host is responsible for making the final decision on your eligibility to participate in the short-term experience.
International students
International Students cannot participate in a short-term study experience to the country/region of passport, if you hold a temporary residency visa for Australia (international student visa or provisional Business Innovation and Investment visa (subclass 188)). The only exception to this is for internships.
Note: A short-term study experience may impact your eligibility to meet the Australian study requirement for the Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa.
