Before applying, talk to an academic advisor, confirm your eligibility and create a budget to confirm you can afford to participate. You can only submit one application per application round. If you are unsure which global experience you wish to apply to, speak with an Internships and Global Experiences Coordinator

Winter 2022 Short-term Study Experiences

Applications for Winter 2022 Short-term Study and Internships experiences will open in January 2022.

A final decision to proceed with the in-person global experiences will be made by late March 2022, based on government health regulations and/or travel restrictions at the time.

The health and safety of our students is a top priority, and this approach allows us to start planning these exciting opportunities whilst maintaining the flexibility to adjust our plans.

2. Research funding options

OS-Help Loan

OS-Help loans are available for in-person experiences and require an additional application to be completed. Be sure to complete the relevant application prior to the published deadline in order to be considered for this funding. 

Short-Term Experience Funding 

When you submit a short-term global experience application, you are automatically considered for short-term global experience funding that is relevant to your nominated experience. There is no additional application required.   

Only students who are successful in receiving a grant will be notified and asked to submit additional documentation. It is your responsibility to ensure you submit the requested documentation before the necessary deadline.  

When you submit a short-term global experience application, you are automatically considered for a funding (grants or scholarships) that is relevant to your nominated experience. There is no additional application required. 

Do not rely on UQ funding

There is no guarantee you will receive funding. We strongly advise you not to rely on this funding.

Decisions around funding will not be made until after many hosts will require you to pay a non-refundable deposit or full program fees, so you must be able to afford to pay program deposits and fees without this funding.
