Nanyang Technological University Short-term Summer Program: In Person
We are very pleased to announce that our global experiences including Semester 2, 2022 Exchange and Winter 2022 Experiences will recommence on a country-by-country basis. We understand how important these opportunities are for you, and our teams have been working diligently behind the scenes to ensure these can be offered safely as we continue to monitor the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic and other global safety considerations.

The NTU Short Term Summer Program opens up fascinating Asian cultural experiences and opportunities and at the same time equips you with key entrepreneurial skills for a venture into Asia. NTU offer multiple "tracks" for students to choose from, more information on these tracks are listed under the Courses tab.

Credit equivalent
3 AUs = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 4 UQ Units after successful completion of experience (pending UQ faculty approval).
Visa Information
It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for the country where you will be studying. As the Global Experiences team is not a visa-issuing authority we cannot provide visa advice.

Eligibility and application
All applicants must meet the UQ short-term experience eligibility criteria and the NTU entry requirements. This program impacts on UQ semester 2 dates (except the Venturing into Entrepreneurship course), therefore, UQ students must meet the additional special conditions for programs that impact on teaching dates.
Students must apply to UQ by 03 April to be nominated to participate in this program. Students will receive application instructions via email in late April.

Track 1 - Language and Cultural Studies
An introduction to basic Chinese and Malay language skills, helping students discover the fascinating and intriguing lifestyles in Asia.

Track 2 - Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Offered by the Nanyang Technopreneurship Centre (NTC), learn fundamental entrepreneurship competencies, business acumen and stamina to build and grow businesses. Students can take both ET5131 and ET5132.

Track 3 - Creative Design and Media
Conducted by the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, this track consists of courses in creative writing, design and media.

Track 4 - Success in the Globalised Marketplace
To compete in today’s marketplace, one has to possess many traits and skills from cultural intelligence to negotiation skills, strategic management and marketing communications.

Track 5 - New Technologies, New World
Get tech-savvy with this track and dip into the world of 3D printing, bioprinting and their applications in the real world.

Costs
Tuition and administrative fees will be approximately $2,800 - $4,600 AUD. More information regarding program fees can be found on the host university information sheet (page 29).
Funding
New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant
New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants may be available for eligible students participating in in-person experience only.
When you submit your application to the Internships and Global Experiences team, you are automatically considered. There is no additional application required. Applicants will need to submit supporting documentation (host acceptance, bank details) by the relevant deadline.
This grant is not guaranteed even if all selection criteria are met.
Widening Participation Grant
Applicants may also be eligible for UQ-specific funding. Applicants will be notified by mid-May (for winter programs) or late-October (for summer programs) if they are eligible for grants and scholarships awarded by the Internships and Global Experiences Team. Please do not rely on this funding to support your experience.
Accommodation
Accommodation can be arranged as part of the program for an additional cost. For more information regarding accommodation, please see the NTU Summer Program website.
