Personal Development
From this experience, I met many new friends from different countries and learned about the development of Singapore and its multiculturalism. This experience has allowed me to be more inclusive and has made me more open to new things.
Professional Development
I was afraid to communicate with other students at the beginning, and I forced myself to talk with others actively, which made me gradually meet new people and improved my cultural intelligence.
Budget
I set a limit on the daily expenses, no more than 20SGD per day. It was cheap to eat in the NTU canteen. Eating out and travelling can be expensive expenses. I would advise future students to keep an account, so they know exactly what they are spending.
The funding was very beneficial to my experience. It eased my financial pressure. I used the finding I received to buy a round-trip ticket.
Accommodation
NTU required students to live in accommodation on campus, with two students randomly assigned to a room. The hall I live in is relatively old; there is no elevator, so it was challenging to carry luggage. But it was close to the teaching buildings and the living facilities are convenient. The staff of NTU will teach us how to use the air conditioning card and help us top up it. I would advise future students to check with their host university before departure what the accommodation will offer to make it easier for them to pack.
Advice/Top Tips
