So you're ready to apply for an internship?

Before applying, confirm your eligibility to confirm you can afford to participate.

To receive support from UQ for your Internship Experience (which may include access to insurance and funding) you must submit your online application and supporting documentation (see notes below) to the Internships and Global Experiences Team.

You must agree to UQ's Global Experiences Terms and Conditions when you submit your application.

In-Person Global Internship Experiences

We are very pleased to announce that our global experiences will recommence on a country-by-country basis. We understand how important these opportunities are for you, and our teams have been working diligently behind the scenes to ensure these can be offered safely as we continue to monitor the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic and other global safety considerations.

Make sure to research your travel destination(s) and prepare accordingly, by reviewing all the FAQs.

4. Apply to Host

Your application to UQ is separate from your application to the host of your nominated Internship. The host-specific application details are outlined on the "Eligibility and application" section of each experience webpage. It is your responsibility to research the application process, deadlines and fees for your nominated host. If you have any questions, you can contact the host directly for further information.

The Internships and Global Experiences Team (IGET) has no control over whether your application to the host will be approved, and approval by IGET does not guarantee approval by the host.

Many Internships are competitive, popular, have limited places, and hosts may allocate these places on a rolling basis. It is your responsibility to ensure you provide the relevant documentation, fees and application forms to the host before their nominated deadline.  

For-credit students may wish to wait until their credit assessment has been completed by the faculty before applying to their host.
