Who are NEXSTEP?

NEXSTEP was voted 2017’s most innovative internship program by for its Virtual Internship Initiative. As companies transition to remote work structures, it is clear that our work reality has changed and the lasting impact of how work will be conducted online makes a virtual internship experience life-changing and future-ready for the next generation of leaders like yourself.

As student are currently not able to travel abroad, we should not limit their access to gaining work experience in an international context, therefore a creative learning structure for virtual internships combines both global engagement with real-world project-based experience.

Additionally, as companies adapt to their remote work structures, it is likely the coronavirus pandemic will be having a lasting impact on how work is conducted around the world. As such, utilising this time to building up experience of remote working is criterial to preparing our next generation of leaders for this new way of working.

What did past students say: 'Would you recommend this experience?'

Below refers to the Winter 2020 Domestic and Virtual Internship opportunities.

I would recommend this experience because you really do learn a lot about how a business works without even having to leave home. Especially during this pandemic, a lot of businesses have allowed staff to work from home, so this experience is particularly relevant in today's context, and gives an idea of what you can expect when working for companies in the future.UQ B Environmental Science (Hons) Student | Virtual Internship with a sustainable food production organisation based in Bangkok, Thailand | NEXSTEP Virtual Internships.
