University of Tubingen Winter School
The University of Tubingen Winter School offers studies in English, an opportunity to make international friends & learn German at one of Germany's best universities while enjoying winter in the snow in beautiful Tübingen!
With its traditional yet dynamic setting, the T-IES short-term programs at the University of Tübingen offer you a unique opportunity to experience Europe up close! Do not just learn about European societies - experience Europe up close with a choice between three different Study Tracks. Class sessions are highly interactive and intercultural, combining traditional and innovative teaching styles, including field trips and field research conducted by you.

Students are required to complete all courses from either Track A, Track B or Track C, a German language course and an intercultural workshop during this experience. Field trips are a mandatory component of the course.
Credit Equivalent
6 ECTS = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 2 UQ Units upon successful completion of experience (pending UQ faculty approval). Students will not receive credit for the German Language course.

Eligibility and Application
All applicants must meet the UQ short-term experience eligibility criteria and any additional eligibility criteria set by Tubingen University.
Apply early, as participant numbers are capped per Study Track.
If you intend to undertake your experience for credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to Global Experiences at least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note, however, that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline.
Cost
The participation mode for this experience is Study Abroad, meaning you pay tuition directly to the host. The program fee will be approximately $3,208.00 AUD and includes the following;

You will pay all associated program fees directly to the host. More information regarding fees and inclusions can be found on the host university website.
Accommodation
Accommodation in a guest house, with a host family, in a student-shared flat, or in a student dorm is provided as part of the program fee. More accommodation information can be found on the host university website.

When you submit your application for an experience, you are considered for funding that is relevant to your nominated experience. Please refer to the Short-Term Experiences Funding page for details.
OS-HELP Loan
You may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth-supported student.

Application Deadlines
OS-HELP loan applications open on 5 January each year.
OS-HELP loan applications can’t be accepted:
- any earlier than 6 months before the official start date of your overseas study
- any later than 3 months before the official end date of your overseas study.
