The Digital Business Master Class includes viewpoints on the Finnish digital business landscape and companies through industry lecturers and company visits. Lectures by Aalto faculty, visiting faculty and industry professionals. During the intensive course, students work in international teams to plan digital solutions for real business cases from partnering companies.

Credit equivalent

6 ECTS = 2 UQ Units. A maximum of 2 UQ Units if 6 ECTS are successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).

  • MBA students: #2 UQ units credit towards BISM7808 Digitalising Business
  • MBus students: #2 UQ units credit towards MBus program elective or Information Systems Field of Study elective

Eligibility

All applicants must meet the UQ short-term eligibility criteria and Aalto University's entry requirements.  This experience is open to postgraduate (with a background in business studies) and MBA students only

Application

Applicants must apply to the Global Experiences team by 14 April 2026 to be considered for this experience. 

Successful applicants will be nominated by UQ to the Aalto University Digital Business Master Class by 24 April 2026. Selected students will receive the application link via email from the Aalto University School of Business Team after this, and will be required to submit an online registration to the host University directly by 2 May 2026.

It is strongly recommended that you submit your application to the Global Experiences team at least 4 weeks before the nomination deadline to allow sufficient time for faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note, however, that it is your responsibility to meet the host application and nomination deadlines.

    Cost

    The participation mode for this experience is Exchange.

    A program fee of approximately $420 AUD is payable to Aalto University School of Business (social programme fee).

    Accommodation

    Accommodation is at an additional cost. Students are responsible for booking their own accommodation for their stay in Finland.

    Funding

    Global Experiences Grants

    When you submit your application for an experience, you are automatically considered for funding that is relevant to your nominated experience. Please refer to the Short-Term Experiences Funding  page for details. 

    OS-HELP Loan

    You may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth-supported student.

    Application Deadlines

    OS-HELP loan applications open on 5 January each year.

    OS-HELP loan applications can’t be accepted:

    • any earlier than 6 months before the official start date of your overseas study
    • any later than 3 months before the official end date of your overseas study.
