Register your experience

So you're ready to register for your internship?

To receive support from UQ for your Internship Experience (which may include access to insurance and funding) you must register your experience and supporting documentation (see notes below) to the Internship Team.

You must agree to UQ's Global Experiences Terms and Conditions when you submit your application.

To apply, follow these steps:

1. Pre-Application

Students identify an internship opportunity with the provider/host organisation.
(If applicable) Seek academic approval for course credit or professional practice hours.

2. Application to host/provider

Students apply directly to the provider/host organisation.
Students obtain confirmation of internship enrolment, which should include information including but not limited to:
1. Full name of the student
2. Internship start and end dates
3. Minimum number of hours per week
4. Internship type (domestic, global or virtual) & location

3. Registration with UQ

Once enrolled, submit the Internship Registration with UQ if applying for UQ Internship Grants, the NCP grant, or UQ insurance. OS-HELP may also be available to support your global internship.
- Upload confirmation of internship enrolment.
- UQ verifies details with the provider/host organisation.
- Provider may use a shared spreadsheet to update UQ.
- UQ reviews registration for eligibility.

4. Pre-Departure

Complete the Traveller Declaration.
Submit Pre-Departure Confirmation to UQ.

5. Internship Experience

Internship Checkpoint: UQ will send a check-in form at the end of the first week for the student to complete.
Credit-bearing / EPP placement: Ensure to complete any tasks, assessments, or reports required by your course.

6. Post-Internship

Reflection: UQ will send a reflection form at the beginning of the final week for the student to complete by reflecting on their experience.
Share Your Experience: On the last day of the placement, submit the final feedback form provided by UQ.
