Applicants are advised to submit 2-3 courses on their application for credit form for faculty assessment credit in case of course cancellation or changes. 

Credit Equivalent 

3 Credits = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 2 UQ Units upon successful completion of 3 credits (pending UQ faculty approval).

Eligibility and Application

All applicants must meet the short-term experience eligibility criteria and any additional eligibility criteria set by Korea University

If you are intending to undertake your experience for-credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to IGET at least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for Faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note however that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline.

Cost

The participation mode of this experience is Study Abroad. The program fee is approximately AUD $2,000 for one course and an application fee of approximately AUD $120 will apply. Students can also choose to participate in the Extracurricular Activities program for an optional fee of approximately $600 AUD. Note an early bird discount applies to students who apply and pay before 31 October 2024.

Accommodation 

Accommodation in on-campus housing can be arranged at an additional cost. Korea University also provides information about off-campus housing options on the host university website. More information regarding accommodation options can be found on the Korea University IWU accommodation page.

Funding

New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant 

Eligible students are guaranteed a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant valued at $3,000 AUD when participating in this experience.

When you submit your application to the Internships and Global Experiences team, you are automatically considered. There is no additional application required. Applicants will need to submit supporting documentation (host acceptance, bank details) by the relevant deadline.

If you participate in a short-term program you may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth supported student.
