Sciences Po Winter School
The Sciences Po Winter School is a unique opportunity for students from around the world to join a vibrant international community and experience Paris in the heart of winter! Participants can spend two weeks in central Paris on our historic campus, taking interactive courses with Sciences Po’s world-class faculty..
This programme provides courses in social sciences, tackling pressing global challenges, combining theory and real-world practice. This intensive academic experience allows students to gain hands-on experience at the 1st University in Europe for Politics and International Relations.
A key part of the Winter School experience is the opportunity to explore Paris and its cultural, historical, and international landmarks through a carefully curated extracurricular programme. Designed to complement the academic content of the courses, these activities allow students to deepen their understanding of French culture while sharing memorable experiences with fellow participants from around the world.

Credit equivalent
6 ECTS = 2 UQ Units. A maximum of 2 UQ Units upon successful completion of 6 ECTS (one core course from the French language or social sciences track) (pending UQ faculty approval).

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for the country where you will be studying. As the Global Experiences team is not a visa-issuing authority, we cannot provide visa advice.

Eligibility and application
All applicants must meet the UQ short-term experience eligibility criteria and the Sciences Po entry requirements.
If you intend to undertake your experience for credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to the Global Experiences team at least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline.
Cost
The participation mode of this experience is Study Abroad, meaning you pay tuition directly to the host. Tuition will cost approximately $4015 AUD (1x track + workshop). There is also a non-refundable application fee of approximately $82 AUD.

Accommodation
Accommodation plus meals in single or shared rooms can be arranged as part of the program for an additional cost of approximately $1150 - $1970 AUD. A limited number of rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Accommodation application deadline: 30 September 2026.

Global Experiences Grants
When you submit your application for an experience, you are automatically considered for funding that is relevant to your nominated experience. Please refer to the Short-Term Experiences Funding page for details.
OS-HELP Loan
You may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth-supported student.

Application Deadlines
OS-HELP loan applications open on 5 January each year.
OS-HELP loan applications can’t be accepted:
- any earlier than 6 months before the official start date of your overseas study
- any later than 3 months before the official end date of your overseas study.
