University of Leeds International Summer School: Block 1 & 2
University of Leeds International Summer School (LISS) offers the opportunity to study at the University of Leeds and immerse yourself in British culture as part of an exciting two- or four-week program.
Taking advantage of the vibrant, student-friendly city of Leeds, and the rich history, culture and natural beauty of the area, the summer school combines world-class tuition with local knowledge, academic-related field trips, and a wide variety of social activities.

Credit equivalent
10 Credits = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 4 UQ Units if 20 Credits are successfully completed across two blocks (pending UQ faculty approval).

Eligibility and application
All applicants must meet the short-term experience eligibility criteria and the Leeds entry requirements.
This program impacts UQ semester 2 dates. UQ students must meet the additional special conditions for programs that impact teaching dates.
Applicants must apply to Global Experiences by 21 April and should upload the following documents to their online application under the Additional Documentation file upload:
- Supporting statement (500–1,000 word brief essay outlining your reasons for applying to LISS)
- Official academic transcript from your home university (in English)
- Copy of your English language certificate or proof that you are taught in English at your home university (if required – please see the minimum English language requirements section of this page for more information)
Successful applicants will be nominated to the University of Leeds by UQ following the application deadline. Selected students will be required to submit an online registration to the University directly.
Costs
The participation mode of this experience is Reciprocity. The tuition fee is paid directly to UQ. Students are responsible for non-tuition costs associated with the program of approximately AUD $2,000 - $3,000, which includes accommodation, module field trips and weekend excursions.
