Fudan International Winter Session
Fudan University International Winter Session is a three-week English-taught study program held annually during the winter season. Designed for college students from around the globe, the program aims to foster multicultural understanding, global perspectives, and meaningful connections among participants.
In addition to academic courses, students will participate in a variety of extracurricular and social activities, including city tours, company visits, and cultural events. These activities are designed to provide an immersive experience of Chinese culture, showcase the dynamic city of Shanghai, and facilitate networking among talented participants from both China and abroad. Students will have the unique opportunity to explore China’s rich culture and become an integral part of the vibrant Fudan community.

For more detailed information regarding the courses available, visit the host university website. You must choose courses offered in Face-to-Face teaching mode only. If you intend to enrol in 2 courses, please review the course syllabus to ensure that the course schedules do not overlap.
Applicants are advised to submit 2-3 courses on their application for credit form for faculty assessment credit in case of course cancellation or changes.
Credit equivalent
2 Credits = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 4 UQ Units if 4 Credits are successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for the country where you will be studying. As the Global Experiences team is not a visa-issuing authority we cannot provide visa advice.

Eligibility and application
All applicants must meet the UQ short-term experience criteria and the Fudan entry requirements.
If you are intending to undertake your experience for-credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to the Global Experiences team at least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for Faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note however that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline.
Cost
The participation mode of this experience is Study Abroad, meaning you will pay tuition fees directly to the host.
The program fee is approximately AUD $3,850 for one course, and includes tuition fees, cultural activities and a company visit. An application fee of approximately AUD $85 will apply. Note an early-bird discount applies to students who apply to the host by 31 August 2026 and pay tuition fees by 4 September 2026.
Accommodation
Students are required to arrange their own accommodation for the duration of the program. More information regarding accommodation options, including options for off-campus accommodation, can be found on the Fudan University webpage.

Global Experiences Grants

OS-HELP Loan
You may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth-supported student.

If you participate in a short-term program you may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth supported student.
Application Deadlines
OS-HELP loan applications can’t be accepted:
- any earlier than 6 months before the official start date of your overseas study
- any later than 3 months before the official end date of your overseas study.
