The ACICIS Indonesian Language Short Course provides intensive Indonesian language training for students from introductory to advanced levels. 

Immerse in Indonesian culture and language studies in Acicis’ Indonesian Language Short Course during the three-week Summer program. Students can undertake the program either to fast-track or supplement language studies at their home university, or, for those students exploring an emerging interest in Indonesia, as an in-country, immersive introduction to the Indonesian language.

The program consists of intensive Indonesian language classes, cultural classes and field trips, and offers unique opportunities to practise your Indonesian language skills with native speakers.

Credit Equivalent

3 week course = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 2 UQ Units if the ACICIS Indonesian Language Short Course is successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).

Eligibility and application

All applicants must meet the UQ short-term experience eligibility criteria and the ACICIS entry requirements. 

Important: Please note that the host application deadline for this program falls before the UQ Short-Term Study application deadline. Students wishing to apply to this program should submit their host application prior to the host deadline outlined in the Key Dates section, and submit their UQ application as soon as applications open.

Cost

The participation mode of this experience is Study Abroad. The program fee is $3,308 AUD and includes tuition, administration fee and visa fee. 

Accommodation

Accommodation is not included in the program fee. Participants are required to organise and book their own accommodation. For more information regarding accommodation, please see the host program website. 

Funding

New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant

New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants may be available for this experience thorugh ACICIS.

When you submit your application to ACICIS, you are automatically assessed by ACICIS for NCP funding. There is no additional application required. 

This grant is not guaranteed even if all selection criteria are met. Please refer to ACICIS NCP Funding Information.

Global Experiences Grants

When you submit your application to Global Experiences, you are considered for funding that is relevant to your nominated experience. Please refer to the Short-Term Experiences Funding page for details. 

OS-HELP Loan

You may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth-supported student.

If you participate in a short-term program you may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth supported student. 

Application Deadlines

OS-HELP loan applications open on 5 January each year.

OS-HELP loan applications can’t be accepted:

  • any earlier than 6 months before the official start date of your overseas study
  • any later than 3 months before the official end date of your overseas study.
