Humboldt University International Summer School
Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is one of the leading higher educational institutions in Germany and is situated in the unique and historic city of Berlin. During the semester breaks, the university offers the Humboldt University Summer School Program for students, which provides the opportunity to experience the german university culture.
Humboldt University offers a great variety of interdisciplinary subject courses taught in English and German language courses. The courses target international undergraduates and postgraduate students. Annually, more than 600 students from all over the world study together in the On-Campus courses, where they make lasting friendships and benefit from unforgettable experiences in Berlin.

Credit equivalent
6 - 9 ECTS = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 4 UQ Units at least 12 ECTS are successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).
Note: Students wishing to gain 4 UQ units of credit need to ensure their chosen courses at Humboldt do not have timetable clashes.

Eligibility and application
All applicants must meet the standard UQ Student Eligibility Criteria and sny additional eligibility criteria set by Humboldt University and outlined for the relevant courses. For more information regarding the Humboldt entry requirements, please see the program information for each individual course listed above.
Session Two of this program impacts UQ semester 2 teaching dates. UQ students must meet the additional special conditions for programs that impact teaching dates.
If you are intending to undertake your experience for-credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to IGET at least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for Faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note however that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline.
Cost
The participation mode of this experience is Study Abroad. Tuition fees will vary depending on the course(s) you choose. The tuition and program fees are approximately $1,200 - $1,900 AUD per course. Detailed information regarding fees can be found on the host university's website. UQ students may also be eligible for a partner discount and discount for taking multiple courses.
Accommodation
Accommodation is at an additional cost. Students are responsible for booking their own accommodation for their stay in Germany.

Funding
Internships and Global Experiences Grants
When you submit your application for an experience, you are automatically considered for funding that is relevant to your nominated experience. Please refer to the Short-Term Experiences Funding page for details.
OS-HELP Loan
You may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth-supported student.
