CIS Australia specialises in the design, development and implementation of Customised Group Programs. The CIS Australia July in Tokyo program takes place in the bustling city of Tokyo at J.F Oberlin University.

Choose one or two sessions to study Japanese culture and language.  Courses are available in business, culture, the arts, social sciences and Japanese language (beginner and intermediate). Experience the famous temples and sites of Tokyo, while immersing yourself at a local university with Japanese students. Students will have the opportunity to explore a refreshing and stimulating side of the world, with something for everyone.

Credit Equivalent

3 US credits = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 4 UQ Units if 6 US credits are successfully completed across two sessions (pending UQ faculty approval).

Eligibility and application

All applicants must meet the UQ short-term experience eligibility criteria and the CIS Australia entry requirements. Students are required to at least have a 4.5 GPA to meet CIS entry requirements.

'Session 3' and combined 'Session 2 & 3' impact on UQ semester dates, UQ students must meet the additional special conditions for programs that impact on teaching dates.

CIS Australia programs are highly competitive and fill up fast so be sure to get your application in as early as possible.

If you are intending to undertake your experience for-credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to IGET at least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for Faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note however that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline.

Costs

The participation mode of this experience is Study Abroad, meaning you pay tuition directly to the host. The program fee will cost approximately $5,599 AUD and includes tuition, accommodation, meals and class field trips. An additional application fee of $95 AUD will apply.

Internships and Global Experiences Grants
