Credit Equivalent

3 credits = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 4 UQ Units if 6 credits are successfully completed across two sessions (pending UQ faculty approval).

Eligibility and application

All applicants must meet the UQ short-term experience eligibility criteria and the CIS Australia entry requirements. Students are required to at least have a 4.5 GPA to meet CIS entry requirements.

Session 4 and B impact on UQ semester 2 dates. UQ students must meet the additional special conditions for programs that impact on teaching dates.

CIS Australia programs are highly competitive and fill up fast so be sure to get your application in as early as possible.

If you are intending to undertake your experience for-credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to IGET at least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for Faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note however that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline.

Costs

The participation mode of this experience is Study Abroad, meaning you pay tuition directly to the host. The program fee will cost approximately $6,999 AUD - $12,999 AUD and includes tuition, accommodation, meals and class field trips. An additional application fee of $95 AUD will apply.

If you participate in a short-term program you may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth-supported student.
