The Chinese University of Hong Kong International Summer School offers a fun, interactive and academically challenging experience, where you can meet new friends from around the world, learn in an open and stimulating environment, and spend a fun-filled summer exploring a cosmopolitan city.

This year, CUHK are offering 20 courses in four academic areas taught by outstanding CUHK and visiting professors from renowned overseas universities.

Credit equivalent 

3 CUHK Credits = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 4 UQ Units after successful completion of two courses (pending UQ faculty approval).

Eligibility and application

All applicants must meet the short-term experience eligibility criteria and the CUHK entry requirements. 

If you are intending to undertake your experience for-credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to IGET at least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for Faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note however that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline.  

This experience impacts UQ semester 2 teaching dates. UQ students must meet the additional special conditions for programs that impact teaching dates.

Cost

The participation mode of this experience is Study Abroad. Tuition fees will be approximately $1,700 per course. Accommodation and administration fees are an additional cost.

Funding

New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant 

Eligible students are guaranteed a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant valued at $3,000 AUD when participating in this experience.

When you submit your application to the Internships and Global Experiences team, you are automatically considered. There is no additional application required. Applicants will need to submit supporting documentation (host acceptance, bank details) by the relevant deadline.
