ACICIS Professional Practicum
The ACICIS Professional Practicum Programs are high-quality, intensive academic study programs delivered in Indonesia for Australian and international university students. ACICIS practicum programs combine academic study with a 160-hour professional placement at an Indonesian or international host organisation. Placement host organisations are sourced from a broad range of industries and sectors in Indonesia.

Credit Equivalent
Satisfactory completion of program = 2 units. Maximum of 2 UQ Units if program is successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for the country where you will be studying. As the Global Experiences team is not a visa-issuing authority we cannot provide visa advice.

Eligibility and Application Instructions
All applicants must meet the UQ short-term experience eligibility criteria and the ACICIS entry requirements.
*Important: Please note that the host application deadline for this program falls before UQ Short-Term Study applications open. Students wishing to apply to this program should submit their host application prior to the host deadline outlined in the Key Dates section, and submit their UQ application once applications open on 26 July.
Cost
The participation mode of this experience is Study Abroad. The program costs $5,235 AUD.

This cost includes:
- Application review and credit approval facilitation
- Placement host organisation matching and placement setup
- Comprehensive pre-program information and support
- Pre-program online networking event with other program participants, ACICIS alumni and/or ACICIS staff
- Comprehensive Orientation program
- Accomodation during Orientation (Twin Share)
- Accomodation guide and search support
- Intensive Indonesian language training (40 hours)
- Two- week Series of seminars and fieldtrips led by industry experts and practitioners
- A four - week supervised professional placement
- High-quality in-country academic supervision and mentorship for the duration of the program
- Marking and assessment of all assessable itmes outlined in the ocurse outline.
- 24/7 in-country pastoral care suport and risk management throughout the six-week program in Indonesia.
- Public liability insurance cover for all program-related activities undertaken in Indonesia.
Accommodation
Accommodation is not included except for 2 day orientation. Participants are required to organize and book their own accommodation. More information regarding accommodation options can be found on the host program website.
Funding
New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant
New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants may be available for this experience.
When you submit your application to the Internships and Global Experiences team, you are automatically considered. There is no additional application required. Applicants will need to submit supporting documentation (host acceptance, bank details) by the relevant deadline.
This grant is not guaranteed even if all selection criteria are met.

If you participate in a short-term program you may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth supported student.

OS-HELP Loan application deadlines close before the Summer and Winter Short-Term Study application deadlines. Please visit the OS-HELP Loan website for deadline dates as late applications will not be accepted.

Students are encouraged to register and attend an information session to receive more details on the application process, eligibility criteria, funding etc.
