University of Leeds International Summer School (LISS) offers the opportunity to study at the University of Leeds and immerse yourself in British culture as part of an exciting four-week program.

Credit Equivalent 

10 Credits = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 4 UQ Units if 20 Credits are successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for the country where you will be studying. As UQ Abroad is not a visa-issuing authority we cannot provide visa advice.

Eligibility and application

All applicants must meet the short-term experience eligibility criteria and the Leeds entry requirements

This is a competitive program and students must obtain credit in order to participate in this program. Students will be selected via an internal UQ selection committee, as well as an internal Leeds evaluation. 

Block 2 of this program impacts on UQ semester 2 dates, UQ students must there meet the additional special conditions for programs that impact on teaching dates.

*Applicants will be nominated to Leeds by UQ Abroad once their application is assessed and submitted. Leeds will contact applicants directly with their application information.

UQ students are able to complete a variety of courses within one of the following blocks:

Costs

Tuition is paid to UQ. Additional program fees (approximately $1,900 - $3,000AUD) are paid directly to Leeds and include accommodation, some meals, academic field trips, cultural excursions and a social programme.

Applicants may also be eligible for UQ-specific funding. Applicants will be notified by mid-May if they are eligible for travel grants and scholarships awarded by the Global Experiences Team. Please do not rely on this funding to support your global experience.

Leeds Administrative Fee Scholarships

For 2020, Leeds is offering several scholarships to cover their administrative program fees (approximately $1,900 - $3,000 AUD) which includes accommodation, some meals and the social program. Applicants will be selected by an internal UQ selection panel on the basis of GPA and academic progression. Applicants must submit a completed application to UQ by March 10 and will be notified by late-March if they have been selected for this funding. 

Accommodation

Accommodation is included in the program fee.
