The Inspiration Australia Program delivers experiences to Chinese & Australian students to work in teams on online industry projects for Business, Government & Community organisations across Australia and China.

The program is supported by 10 Australian Universities, several Australia-China advocacy partners and aim to enhance student experience and produce positive, tangible, marketable evidence of the benefits of engagement.

What can I participate in?

Inspiration Australia is a 3-week 50-hour extra-curricular program where student teams, with an even split of domestic and Chinese international students, work collaboratively to deliver a consulting project for a Government Agency, Business or Nonprofit organisation, supported by an industry mentor.

Eligibility and application

All applicants must meet the UQ Domestic and Virtual Internship Eligibility Criteria and any other criteria as outlined by the host organisation.

The Inspiration Australia Program is open to Chinese national students and Australian domestic students. Places in the Inspiration Australia Program are limited and will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis and whether they have participated in another IGET experience. 

HDR Students may be able to participate in the Inspiration Australia program but should note that your participation: 

  • is extracurricular and outside of your PhD (implications to annual leave) 
  • will no be considered a HDR placement eligible for the Career Development Scholarship Extension

Costs & Inclusions

There are no fees or associated costs that students are required to pay toward completing the Inspiration Australia program.

Program inclusions for student who successfully completed:

  • direct feedback from their client on their project outcome,
  • a certificate on completion, and
  • a completion badge to display on their LinkedIn profile.

Grants

Students completing this program are not eligible to be considered for a grant.
