2019 BLOOM Festival

Thursday 17 - Sunday 27 October

BLOOM festival emerges into its second year, filling the St Lucia campus with vibrant, innovative activities and celebrations. Taking place from Thursday 17 October to Sunday 27 October, the festival celebrates the UQ community in the midst of the season of the jacarandas as they drape the University in their colour and beauty.

The theme of this years festival will be 'Celebrate, Innovate, Illuminate'. 'Celebrate' - to encompass a number of events that will mark the achievements of students and staff from 2019; 'Innovate' - to showcase a variety of collaborations and creative ideas produced by UQ students displayed throughout the festival; and 'Illuminate' to symbolise a brilliant light display across UQ Lakes and the beautiful St Lucia campus as it comes alive in a sea of purple. BLOOM festival as a whole encompasses why UQ is continually voted the number one most beautiful campus in Australia year after year.

Over the course of this week we want students, staff, alumni and the community to relax under their favourite jacarandas, enjoy activations and pop up entertainment and delight in the sea of purple UQ so brilliantly delivers. There will also be plenty of things to discover and get involved in across campus with a number of our BLOOM partners. A glimpse of our program can be found below.
