UQ-IITD Student Mobility Program

The two-week UQ-IIDD Study Mobility Program 2025 offers a unique opportunity for students to engage with the academic and cultural environment of IIT Delhi. Participants will be assigned a faculty coordinator and receive comprehensive logistical support from the UQ-IITD Research Academy. This experience will provide insights into cutting-edge research and help students prepare for potential doctoral pathways.

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD), designated an "Institute of Eminence" by the Government of India, is recognised as one of the world's leading higher education institutions. Situated in the heart of the national capital and spread across 350 acres, IITD offers world-class research facilities and a dynamic campus life focused on academic excellence and holistic development.

The UQ-IITD Research Academy is a collaborative initiative between The University of Queensland (UQ) and IIT Delhi. The Academy fosters impactful, transnational research by combining the academic strengths and resources of both institutions. Currently, the Academy supports over 120 joint PhD students across a broad spectrum of disciplines.

  • Open to currently enrolled UQ undergraduate and postgraduate students from all disciplines

Up to 15 UQ students from The University of Queensland will be selected by IIDT to participate in the UQ-IIDT Student Mobility Program 2025.

Application Requirements:

  1. Completed the Global Enrichment Experiences application (below) and include:
  2. A one-page statement of purpose outlining your interest in the program and academic goals.
  3. A current two-page CV
  4. A written endorsement from the head of your academic unit at UQ or an academic (lecturer) within your UQ program
  5. UQ studies report (downloaded from mySI-net)

Note: All applications will be provided to IITD for their review and selection process.

Candidates must:

  • be a current:
    • Undergraduate student; or
    • Postgraduate student (Masters)
  • have a UQ GPA of 5.0
  • Not have graduated before the end of the experience
  • Show a genuine interest in the program and research opportunities; and
  • Received the endorsement for your UQ academic

Costs

IIT Dehli will cover the following during the program:

  • On-campus accommodation (IITD student hostel) during the program
  • All meals during the program

All other costs, including flights, airport transfer, visa/entry permit (if required), vaccinations/medical clearance (if required) and discretionary spending, are the responsibility of the participants.

Students will be covered by UQ's Corporate Travel Insurance for the duration of the experience. If you plan to travel for a longer duration that the experience covers, or outside the country of the experience, you are liable for the cost of additional travel and health insurance. 

Accommodation

On-campus accommodation (IITD student hostel) will be provided by IITD.

OS-HELP Loan

If you participate in a short-term program you may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth supported student.

OS-HELP Loan application deadlines may not align with the experience application deadline. Please visit the OS-HELP Loan website for deadline dates as late applications will not be accepted.
