Find a Research Experience Project
Each year, UQ offers a diverse range of research projects across many Schools, Institutes and Centres, providing opportunities for students from a broad range of disciplines and interests.
The projects available and the number of participating research units vary each round.
Finding a project
To explore available projects, select the Unit Name link in the list below. Each research unit's website falls under the relevant facluty and provides detailed information about its projects, including eligibility requirements, delivery mode and application instructions.
The contact details for each Research Unit Coordinator are also provided below if you have questions about a project.
For UQ researchers
Researchers interested in supervising a student project are encouraged to contact their relevant Unit Coordinator to discuss participating in the program.
Expressions of interest to supervise a project in the 2027 Summer Research Program will close on Friday 31st July (minimal detail required).
Student applications
Student applications for the 2027 Summer Research Program will open in September.

2027 Summer Research Program
The program will run for six (6) weeks between 11 January - 19 February 2027.
Student application period: 21 September - 11 October 2026.
Students must submit an online application form before 11:59pm, Sunday 11 October 2026 to be considered for this program.

2027 Winter Research Program
The program will run for four (4) weeks between 28 June - 23 July 2026.
Student application period: 22 March - 11 April 2027.
Students must submit an online application form before 11:59pm, Sunday 11 April 2027 to be considered for this program.
