The Summer 2022/23 Sophia University January Session will be offered virtually

The aim of the Sophia University January Session has provided students from around the world with the opportunity to learn unique aspects of Japanese Studies in a comprehensive and intensive manner amongst a lively cosmopolitan community.

All courses will be conducted live or with a mix of real-time and on-demand classes to maximize both interaction with lecturers and fellow students and flexible delivery across different time zones. By participating in scheduled live classes and completing on-demand lessons, you will be able to delve into Japanese language, culture and contemporary social issues, and earn credits upon successful course completion, wherever you are in the world.

Students choose a minimum of 2 courses and a maximum of 3 courses to complete during the program. For more detailed information about these courses go to the host university website or contact the host university. 

Credit Equivalent 

3 Credits = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 2 UQ Units if 3 Credits are successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).

Eligibility and Application

All applicants must meet the short-term experience eligibility criteria and any additional eligibility criteria set by Sophia University

Students are required to have a minimum GPA 5.5 to meet Sophia's entry requirements.

Cost

The participation mode of this experience is Study Abroad: The program fee is approximately $2,000 - $2,720 AUD. Detailed information regarding program fees and inclusions can be found on the host program website
