The aim of the Sophia University January Session is to invite university students from outside of Japan and create a stimulating learning environment for promoting globalization and diversity.

The program consists of 4 courses: “Japanese Business and Economy”, “Education in Japan”, “Media and contemporary issues in Japan”, and “Japanese Language” (Beginner level).

Students choose a minimum of 2 courses and a maximum of 3 courses to complete during the program. For more detailed information about these courses go to the host university website.

Credit Equivalent 

3 Credits = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 2 UQ Units if 3 Credits are successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).

Cost

The tuition fee is approximately $2,000 - $2,200 AUD depending on the number of courses chosen. More information regarding fees can be found on the host university website

Applicants may also be eligible for UQ-specific funding.

Accommodation 

Participants must organise their own housing arrangements. Sophia University can provide advice on accommodation. More information regarding accommodation options can be found on the host university website.
