The University of Nottingham Malaysia offers a world-class British education – ranked among the Top 100 universities worldwide. Designed to reflect University Park Campus in Nottingham, the campus at Semenyih (about 40km from Kuala Lumpur) is a self-contained, vibrant village situated on an attractive and landscaped site.
Malaysian culture, in a nutshell, involves a lot of food and a lot of celebration. The diverse ethnic groups which call Malaysia home make the country a melting pot of beliefs, practices and festivals.

Full-time study load
60 credits per semester at UNMC is equivalent to 8 UQ units.
Minimum academic requirements
You will need a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.0 to study at UNMC.

Accommodation
The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus offers both off- and on-campus accommodation options. International students are given priority in the allocation of places and the University provides information and assistance to students to help find the best solution.
Cost of living
The cost of living in Semenyih is low compared to most cities in Malaysia. The University of Nottingham provides a brief estimate of some of the main expenses to help students budget for exchange.
Financial support
A range of funding for student exchange including scholarships, grants and loans are available to UQ students.
Insurance
Students approved to participate in the Student Exchange Program are automatically covered by UQ’s Travel Insurance for the country of their host university only.

If you plan to travel outside of your host country, you should purchase additional insurance.
In compliance with the Malaysian Ministry of Education, it is compulsory for all international students to have medical insurance coverage throughout their period of study in Malaysia. UNMC will arrange insurance coverage.

Organise your visa
It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for the country where you will be studying. As the Global Experiences team is not a visa-issuing authority we cannot provide visa advice.
UNMC provides visa and immigration information for incoming exchange students.
Contact the High Commission of Malaysia for more visa information.
Travel risk levels
The University of Queensland cannot and does not allow UQ Abroad students to travel to any country with a risk level of 3 (Reconsider your need to travel) or above, as assessed by the Australian Government.
If a country's risk level changes to 3 or above, UQ Abroad programs to that country are suspended until the risk level improves.

Register your travel plans
We recommend that you register your travel plans on the Smartraveller website so that the Australian Government can contact you or your family in an emergency.
Non-Australian citizens should register with their closest consulate.
