You will need a minimum cumulative GPA of 5 to study at Glasgow.
Study Options
Not applicable to this university. You can choose courses from any of the faculties which are open to exchange students, however, there are numerous course restrictions outlined below.
Semester Restrictions
Students wishing to study for a full year must commence their exchange in UQ Semester 2.
Exchange Students attending in Semester 1 only are not permitted to take level 3 and 4 Computing Science, Maths or Statistics courses.

Accommodation
The University of Glasgow has a number of undergraduate residences. As of November 2022, due to a housing shortage in Glasgow and increased requests for campus accommodation, Glasgow residence accommodation is not guaranteed.

Financial support
A range of funding for student exchange including scholarships, grants and loans are available to UQ students.
Students studying at the University of Glasgow can apply for a scholarship through BUTEX. BUTEX offers a number of £500 scholarships to students studying on exchange at member institutions.
Insurance
Students approved to participate in a Semester-based Exchange are automatically covered by UQ’s Travel Insurance for the country of their host university only.

If you plan to travel outside of your host country, you should purchase additional insurance.
Non-EEA students who hold a visa of more than 6 months are required to pay a contribution to the cost of healthcare for the full duration of that visa. This is called the Immigration Healthcare Surcharge (IHS) and is paid as part of the visa application process. Students studying for less than 6 months are not required to pay the IHS.

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for the country where you will be studying. As the Global Experiences team is not a visa-issuing authority we cannot provide visa advice.

Travel risk levels
The University of Queensland cannot and does not allow students to travel to any country with a risk level of 3 (Reconsider your need to travel) or above, as assessed by the Australian Government.
If a country's risk level changes to 3 or above, experiences to that country are suspended until the risk level improves.
