To participate in a Virtual, Domestic or Global Internship, you must meet a number of eligibility criteria. Make sure you meet the eligibility criteria before applying for your internship.

To be eligible to participate in an internship you must:

  • select an experience from the supported experiences list
  • be actively enrolled into a UQ program and courses*
  • not due to graduate at the end of the semester of application*
  • have completed at least six (6) units at UQ in your current UQ program
  • have a minimum GPA of 4 and a record of steady academic achievement
  • meet any other published eligibility requirements relevant to the nominated short-term experience

HDR students please be informed that these internship opportunities may impact your progression and eligibility for scholarship. As an alternative, you may want to consider a HDR program embedded placement. You can find out more by attending an information session on HDR placements, or sending an enquiry to the Graduate School

*Due to the evolving situation of COVID-19, students may be considered for participation in either a Virtual or Domestic internship if they are not currently enrolled.

Students who are due to graduate at the end of semester 2, 2021 are also eligible to apply for a Virtual or Domestic internship, although they may not be covered by UQ Insurance while undertaking their internship.

These exceptions are for this round of applications only.

It is your responsibility to confirm that you meet the eligibility criteria and complete the relevant application procedure with your preferred host. The experience host is responsible for making the final decision on your eligibility to participate in the internship.
