UQ has a wide range of Winter Research projects available to suit many interests and disciplines, across a number of Schools, Institutes and Centres.

As eligibility requirements and project lengths vary, we recommend that you contact the relevant faculty/school/institute/centre for comprehensive information about available projects, project length, and specific eligibility requirements.

Applications for the 2020 Winter Research Program are now closed - Applicants can expect to receive an outcome of their application by 11 May, 2020.
Due to recent changes to the Academic Calendar, the 2020 Winter Research Program has had to be adjusted.  The following changes are now in effect and may still be subject to change:
  • Program is now due to commence on Monday 13 July
  • Projects will be offered for either a three (3) or four (4) week duration 
  • Scholars will receive $1,125 for a three (3) week project
  • Scholars will receive $1,500 for a four (4) week project
  • Applications will still close 26 April, 2020
