Some Faculties allow students to receive credit towards their UQ program from internships or other non-study activities. 

The Global Experiences Team is unable to provide further advice regarding internships for credit. If you are interested in seeking credit, you must contact your Faculty/School directly for more information regarding your eligibility:

Please note: If you are granted permission to receive credit for your participation in an internship program:

  • You must send the Global Experiences Team the official confirmation from your faculty that you have been enrolled in a UQ course.
  • You may be responsible for paying UQ tuition fees in addition to the internship program fee
  • You may be eligible for funding provided through the OS-Help loan scheme

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

Credit must be confirmed with the HASS Faculty to check suitability for your program requirements. You should consult with a faculty advisor prior to submitting an application. 

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences students may be eligible for Level 2 credit through PHSS2000: Practical Employability Experience. Students must have space within their program for a 2 unit general elective. For more information on combining PHSS2000 with a Global Experience, visit the course webpage or contact the HASS faculty on studentfutures@hass.uq.edu.au.

Faculty of Science

Credit must be confirmed with the Science Faculty to check suitability for your program requirements. You should consult with a faculty advisor prior to submitting an application. 

Internship programs may be suitable for Work Integrated Learning course credit through the Faculty of Science (SCIE3050). Please contact the course coordinator of the relevant SCIE3050 offering (e.g., Summer or Winter) to discuss this possibility.

Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology

Credit must be confirmed with the EAIT  Faculty to check suitability for your program requirements. You should consult with a faculty advisor prior to submitting an application.
