The Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble (QSE) was founded in 2001. Since its inception QSE has gained a reputation for energetic, accessible and unique productions of Shakespeare's plays. We use Shakespeare as a platform for positive change. We believe that performance is most potent when it is embodied by actors who train together, exchanging skills and experiences, and sharing a sense of belonging with one another. We consider the human voice to be the ultimate vehicle for embodied expression and communal exploration.

UQ Theatre Festival and Anywhere Festival FLOOD promotional image
FLOOD
by Chris Isaacs

It's going to be the summer of our lives!

Six twenty-something year old’s reunite for a private getaway in the Australian Outback. Road tripping for hours, they sing at the top of their lungs, coming together as if they had never been apart. Just them, the open road and the land, on a trip that couldn’t go wrong- until it does. Their actions, reactions and how they process the events that follow will change their lives forever.

FLOOD by Chris Isaacs can act as a warning to us as a nation to move forward by exploring identity and the unconscious racial bias in our country.

A night of unique storytelling at The University of Queensland in The Great Court. Wear your comfiest clothes, bring your camp chair and a thermos of your favourite hot drink and you’re there camping with the gang.

Location: Great Court
Performances: 17, 18, 23, 24 & 25 May 7-8.15pm

Ages 15+ | 70min | $20 Adult, $15 Conc
