Why did you decide to complete a short term experience?
I thought it would be a great opportunity to travel, experience a new culture and obtain professional practise experience all at once.
How has the experience changed you?
Personally the experience has made me appreciate the 'finer things' in life, as well as obtain an understanding for the diversity of cultures around our planet. Academically and professionally it has really opened my eyes to new ways of approaching issues and provided me with insight to a real working experience.
Favourite memory
Empathising with the farmers of the rural Himalayan village of Swad. We hopped into their shoes and helped them with their work as we interviewed them about their lives and jobs.
Top tips
Take off your 'western lens' and don't come with any preconceptions about the trip. Don't expect anything and embrace the experience as it takes you on a journey.
