Personal Development
During my exchange program, I experienced the Japanese cultural environment, had the opportunity to do after-school activities with Japanese students, and made some Japanese friends. I had the opportunity to use the Japanese I learned in class in my daily life, which helped me to improve my language skills.
Academic Development
As an international student, I have the opportunity to take elective courses at the International Center outside of the exchange program. In these courses, I learned different courses from my major, such as film, education, and house culture. I gained a lot of knowledge from other majors in these courses.
Professional Development
I think it was the Japanese course that helped me the most. My Japanese teacher would combine Japanese language learning with daily life and help international students learn Japanese by emphasising the cultural core of language expression, thus gaining an understanding of Japanese culture through Japanese language learning as well. I believe that language is very necessary for career development and I believe that this experience will help me in my future employment.
Budget
Here is my personal expense list
Accommodation---78000 yen/month
transport---40000 yen 6 months
food---35000yen/month
travel---50000 yen-100000yen
Accommodation
I lived at Tsunashima Student dormitory, The basic setup there is very good, and breakfast and dinner are provided six days a week. It is a dormitory shared by international and Japanese students, so there is a chance to make friends with Japanese students. All facilities are private, including washing machines. However, the rooms are relatively small, and the distance from the school is quite far, so the daily commute time is more than 2 hours.
Highlight
Mita festival. It is a chance to experience Japan's unique school culture and community culture, and you have change to perform on stage if you want.
Advice/Top Tips
