My experience
I decided to take the short-term experience program because I wanted to gain oversea experience and make friends from all over the world. Also, I have been always dreaming of experiencing Hong Kong’s education for a long time.
How has the experience changed you?
The experience has changed me in two ways. First, I stepped out of my comfort zone because going to a different city and getting involved in a different culture are really big challenges. Lucky for me was that I made a local friend who told me lots of things including culture and social habits in Hong Kong. We also tried lots of local food and had a wonderful time. Second, the summer school experience helped improve my understanding of international finance. The professor was fantastic, he inspired us to think about questions independently, which I found very helpful in studying the course.
Favourite memory
I had many memories in Hong Kong, but my favorite one was when I walked around and discovered the city by myself, I enjoyed the view of the city and took lots of pictures. I also tried delicious street food.
As for the food, I highly recommend TIM HO WAN (Sham Shui Po) which is a really famous restaurant in Hong Kong even in Asia. The Dim Sum is so delicious.
Top tips
My advice for new participants is that you should apply for the program as early as possible because it’ll take almost one month to get the VISA.
Another tip is that you should bring enough money because it’s not cheap in Hong Kong.
