My experience
I sought to participate in a short term experience as I was very eager to gain overseas experience and complement my resume with an exchange program at an institution such as Harvard. I was also very eager to participate in this particular exchange so that I could experience the American 'style' of education and determine if there were suitable opportunities to complete further studies abroad once I conclude my Undergraduate degree at UQ.
How has the experience changed you?
Studying at Harvard has had a tremendous impact on me. Whilst I have the privilege of citing 'Harvard University' on my CV and other professional documents, it is not just the professional outcome of the course which resonates so deeply with me. Having actually studied a course at Harvard and experiencing the rigour and meticulousness of American education, together with the lifelong friends I made throughout my 4-week tenure in Massachusetts, I believe I have also grown tremendously as an academic and an individual.
Favourite memory
My favorite memory from the experience was spending the Fourth of July together with 5 other students I met at Harvard during my course. We met early in the morning and proceeded to explore Boston and Cambridge, using all opportunities to immerse oursleves in the festivities, purchase special merchandise and food, and complete as much sightseeing as possible. The day culminated in some beautiful fireworks next to the Charles River.
