Congratulations on being accepted into the Summer Research Program.

On this page, you can find information outlining the next steps through the program. The steps include information on how to apply, what to expect from the program, how to access resources and tools, and how to communicate the skills you will develop throughout your experience.

3. Support when you commence your project

We provide a number of programs and services which will help you make the most out of your Summer Research experience.

Welcome event

All research scholars are invited to attend the Summer Research Welcome. This event will provide you with an opportunity to find out more about the Summer Research Program and to meet other participants.

You will receive an email invitation when the program commences.

Skills training and social events

Once you have accepted your offer you can register your attendance for upcoming workshops, seminars and activities that will help you to make the most of your research experience.

Gatton Students - please note that the shuttle bus between the St Lucia campus and Gatton is now complimentary. For more information: pf.uq.edu.au/buses.

Library support and resources

All Summer Research scholars will have access to Library resources. Your level of library access will be outlined in your offer letter. Please contact your research unit directly if you have any questions about your level of access.

All non-continuing UQ students will be issued with a temporary library access card upon commencement of the Summer Research period. If you experience problems with this card, please contact the Student Employability Centre.

The UQ Library has a team of librarians who are available to assist you with your research projects. To find out who your librarian is, check the Librarians contact page. Look up your school, institute or centre to find your librarian's contact details and book in for an individual consultation to assist you with your research.

The Library also has online training available including Lynda. The Lynda database has online training videos and tutorials covering software and skills in IT, design and business. Topics include office applications, 3D animation, audio engineering, CAD, software development, photography, video editing and web design.
