Available Roles

There are 11 positions across diverse departments such as HR, Overseas Business Development, Legal, R&D, and Energy Trading. All roles are open to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Click a role to view full details and requirements.

Chinese (Mandarin) is NOT essential but is considered "nice to have" or "highly desirable" for specific roles.

Position	Position Summary
Intern for Administration Division, Human Resources Dept. (1 position)	Support HR projects (e.g., Australia labour market surveys and ESG-related initiatives) and assist with cross-functional coordination. The intern will gain hands-on experience in HR projects and processes while contributing to ongoing HR initiatives.
Intern for Overseas Business Development (3 positions)	Provide project support to the Overseas Business Development team, including market research, data collection, slide preparation, project documentation, and coordination with internal stakeholders. This role offers a valuable learning opportunity in international renewable energy business development.
Intern for Legal Division (1 position)	Provide support to the Legal team in reviewing documents, conducting legal research, and organising contract materials. This role provides exposure to corporate legal work in the renewable energy industry.
Intern for Intelligent System R&D Division (2 positions)	Support the development of software solutions related to energy systems and digital platforms. The intern will assist in coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of software applications.
Project Coordination Intern for R&D Division (1 position)	Assist the R&D team with project coordination, research support, and technical documentation. The intern will help organise project materials and support cross-functional collaboration within the R&D team.
Software Development Intern for R&D Division (2 positions)	Support the development of software solutions related to energy systems and digital platforms. The intern will assist in coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of software applications.
Intern for Energy Trading Division (1 position)	Support the Energy Trading team with market data analysis, research on electricity markets, and preparation of internal reports. The intern will gain insight into energy trading and market operations.

Eligibility & How to Apply

Application Process

Step 1: Check your eligibility

Be actively enrolled in a UQ program and courses
Not due to graduate at the end of the semester of application
Completion of at least six (6) units at UQ in your current UQ program
Maintaining a minimum GPA of 4 and a record of steady academic achievement
Must meet visa and travel requirements for Taiwan

Step 2: Prepare your application

You will need:

Cover letter (1–2 pages) outlining what you hope to gain from the experience
Current resume
Academic transcript
For technical roles (Intelligent Systems R&D, R&D, Energy Trading), any previous work, programming projects, or portfolio
Please ensure to the position description for any further requirements

Step 3: Submit your application to UQ
Apply via StudentHub by 12 April 2026.

Step 4: UQ screens applications
The UQ Internship Team reviews and shortlists candidates.

Step 5: HDRE conducts interviews
Shortlisted students will be reviewed/ interviewed by HD Renewable Energy.

Step 6: Register with UQ
Successful students must complete UQ internship registration for grant eligibility and/or insurance by 4 May 2026.

Inclusions & Funding

There is no internship fee to participate in this program.

You must be financially able to support yourself in travelling to, living in (including all transport and living expenses) and returning from Taiwan for the full duration of the program dates.
