Motivation
I wanted an opportunity to challenge myself, and go abroad for a completely different and new experience.
Personal Development
I learnt so much about myself on my exchange it is truly a life changing experience. I not only made incredible friends and connections with international academics, but developed such an appreciation for the how big the world is, how diverse and just how much is out there.
Academic Devlopment
Having leading international academics teach myself gave me an appreciation for alternative perspectives, and challenges that people face. I had teh incredible opportunity to learn about British Politics, and the history of protests and revolution in Scotland.
Professional Development
I feel much more confident and capable in myself. Any challenges, even in a whole new country I know I can overcome.
Costs and Budget
Without travel, I spent around $12,000 on flights, accommodation, food, and discretionary spending through the semester. I learnt to love cooking, especially having big flat dinners which let us split the cost.
Accommodation
The university website was very helpful and had all of the information that I needed. There were multiple University of Glasgow provided accommodation options to chose from. They respond quickly to any queries and the website had all the information about pricing, facilities and even a tour of rooms! Would highly recommend applying early to get your first preference!
Highlight
My highlight was the friends, academic staff and people I met on exchange. So many incredible people, with amazing stories and different experiences. I learnt so much about others, which in turn made me reflect and learn about myself.
