My experience

I lived overseas for most of my life before calling Australia home, and due to that international upbringing, I gravitate towards seeing things from a multi-national perspective. Doing a short-term experience was a wonderful way to get a quick overview what that particular country was all about.

How has the experience changed you?

Personally, the experience has taught me to be fearless, and that there is nothing that I cannot achieve once I set my mind to it.

In terms of academic development, I was exposed to many issues from a very European-centric standpoint. Some of these topics I have never studied in my life - for example, part of my course included gender and racial studies - but after studying it in Germany, I would love to pursue these topics in further detail some day.

Favourite memory

Marching in the Women's March on Women's Day, from the Brandenburg Gates right through the heart of Berlin city with some of my international course-mates.

I also really appreciated the cultural activities that the university offered which allowed us to bond outside the classroom and resulted in life-long friendships. I went ice-skating for the first time in my life, and as a law student, I also really enjoyed the guided tours of the Parliament and the Federal Chancellory.
