Full-time study load

30 ECTS credits per semester at Université Lumière Lyon 2 is equivalent to 8 UQ units.

Host university requirements

GPA
You will need a minimum cumulative GPA of 4.5 to study at Université Lumière Lyon 2.

Language
Université Lumière Lyon 2 is a French-speaking institution and students will not be able to follow a 100% English-language program. At this time, we do not require any official certificate of French level for exchange students, however incoming exchange students must be sufficiently proficient in French (at least B2 level) to be able to follow classes and complete coursework.

Accommodation

Lyon 2 has 4 different types of student-accommodation at the university. Students can choose between these on-campus residences, or search for suitable home-stays or private accommodation. As it is difficult to find accommodation in Lyon, Universite Lumiere Lyon 2 recommends beginning your search as soon as you receive your acceptance letter.

Keep in mind that the student accommodation may only cover you for the dates of the semester. You may be required to find your own accommodation for any pre-semester programs.

Cost of living

Financial support

A range of funding for student exchange including scholarships, grants and loans are available to UQ students.  

Students undertaking exchange studies in France can apply for the Nicolas Baudin Program through the French Embassy in Canberra.

Insurance

Students approved to participate in a Semester-based Exchange are automatically covered by UQ’s Travel Insurance for the country of their host university only.

Travel risk levels

The University of Queensland cannot and does not allow students to travel to any country with a risk level of 3 (Reconsider your need to travel) or above, as assessed by the Australian Government.

If a country's risk level changes to 3 or above, experiences to that country are suspended until the risk level improves.
