It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for the country where you will be studying. As the Global Experiences team is not a visa-issuing authority we cannot provide visa advice.

Application Instructions
All applicants must meet the UQ Internship Eligibility Criteria and any other criteria as outlined by the host organisation. Students are required to apply to both UQ and the Global Student via the buttons below.
Students will receive access to their Internships Workflow once their application is approved by the Internships and Global Experiences Team.
Costs
Program fees for in-person internships are approximately AUD $3,880 (6 weeks) - $4,075 (8 weeks) depending on duration.
Program fees for virtual internships are approximately AUD $1,750 (6 weeks)

The program fee for in-person includes:
- 40 hours/ 5 days a week.
- Interview and host matching
- Pre-departure and orientation
- Accommodation with own room, in a co-living space.
- Ongoing follow up and support throughout the program
- Networking event/s
- 24 hour emergency support
- Farewell and debrief
- Certificate on completion
- Welcome and farewell events
Excludes:
- Airfares
- Airport transfers
- Local transport
- Visa costs (where applicable)
- Meals except where stated in the itinerary
The program fee for virtual internships includes:
- Interview and host matching
- Online orientation
- Ongoing follow up and support throughout the program
- English Speaking Supervisor
- Online Farewell and debrief
- Certificate on completion
Accommodation - (In-person)
Included: Studio accommodation with private bathroom in a co-living serviced residence concept with shared dining and kitchen space. Located close to the train station (LRT), groceries and eateries.
$200 refundable* security deposit required prior to departure from Australia. Students must sign an accommodation agreement.
Funding
Funding is not guaranteed even if all selection criteria are met. Funding should not be a factor when developing your budget and should only be considered supplementary financial support if awarded.
Applicants will be considered for only one grant per application round.
When you submit your application to the Internships and Global Experiences team, you are automatically considered. There is no additional application required. Applicants will need to submit supporting documentation (host acceptance, bank details) by the relevant deadline.
New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant
New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants are available to eligible students if approved to undertake an in-person internship meeting the below criteria:

Internships and Global Experiences Grants
When you submit your application for an internship, you are automatically considered for funding that is relevant to your nominated experience. Please refer to the Short-Term Experiences Funding page for details.
Credit for Internships
Some students may be able to receive credit towards their UQ program pending faculty approval. The Global Experiences Team is unable to provide further advice regarding internships for credit. If you are interested in seeking credit, please refer to the Credit for Internships page for more specific details

Duration Options are: 6 or 8 weeks.
Due to Queensland legislation, students are not permitted to undertake unpaid work (not-for-credit) for more than 30 days in a calendar year. Please take this into account when planning your internship.

OS-HELP Loan
If you participate in an internship program you may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth-supported student.
