The LEAP (Learning, Education, and Academic Placements) program is a partnership between Gold Coast Health (GCH) and several educational institutions, including The University of Queensland. This partnership allows GCH to host students as interns in non-clinical placements, providing valuable learning opportunities and access to talented individuals from top educational institutions for GCH.

Depending on the student’s UQ enrolment, the experience may be classified as either a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement or a Work Experience. Before commencing the placement, students are required to complete a Gold Coast Health Work Experience Agreement (WEA), which has been reviewed and endorsed by UQ Legal Services.

For more information on the Queensland Public Service Code of Conduct 2011, please click here. Students are encouraged to seek independent legal advice if needed. Support may be available through the UQ Union, an independent advisor, or legal counsel.

New opportunities are added as they become available. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and each position will close once filled. We encourage you to apply early.

To get started, check out the list of current non-clinical internship opportunities offered by GCH.
