Careers101 is a four-week program for those looking for support with their career journey.

Timeframe: Tuesday (10:00am - 12:00pm) from Week 4 - Week 7 of Semester 1, 2024

Mode: On Campus, St Lucia

Program:

  • Session 1 (12/03/2024): Your professional identity and online presence. 
    Start by unpacking your professional identity and developing you professional presence online. 
  • Session 2 (19/03/2024): Job searching and networking. 
    Develop your job searching strategies and discover the 'how to's' and opportunities for networking. 
  • Session 3 (26/03/2024): Applications
    Learn tips and strategies for developing your first resume and cover letter
  • Session 4 (09/04/2024): Reflecting and Articulating experiences, capabilities, and your value
    Learn ways that you can reflect on your experiences and articulate them, develop a toolkit for starting your first or next job. 

As part of this program you will have weekly online modules to complete. The online modules are completed at your own pace and serve as a resource to provide further opportunity to engage in career development learning. 

Please note:

  • This program will be capped due to available room capacity, so please register for the program here so as not to miss out.
  • As this is a four-week program, the expectation is that you attend every session. Therefore, if you register but then are no longer able to attend every session, please cancel your booking before Friday, 8 March 2024 to enable another student opportunity to attend.

Careers 101 can also count towards your Employability Award.

Our Career Development Programs are  designed to give you the support and guidance you need to feel confident in planning your career.

Careers 101 Program

A 4 week program offered in Semester 1, 2024 open to all students to help to get started in their career journey.  The program seeks to support students to:

  • Understand who they are as a professional and identify career pathway opportunities
  • Learn about the job application process and how to effectively reflect on and articulate learning from experiences

 

Career Advancement Program

A more advanced program delivered over 4 weeks which seeks to support students to:

  • Develop their career plan and strategies
  • Enhance student capabilities and confidence in articulating their unique value proposition to prospective employers

This program will be offered in Semester 2, 2024 on the St Lucia Campus. More details to come!

How to join a program?

For Career Development Programs students are no longer required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and are welcome to book directly into the program.
