APRU Virtual Student Exchange

UQ is a member of APRU which is a network of leading universities linking the Americas, Asia, and Australasia, APRU (the Association of Pacific Rim Universities) bringing together thought leaders, researchers, and policy-makers to exchange ideas and collaborate on practical solutions to the challenges of the 21st century.

The APRU Virtual Student Exchange (VSE) Program, makes international education accessible by allowing students to take academic courses and participate in co-curricular programs without the need to leave home.

The APRU VSE Program provides an immersive virtual study experience through digital technologies and platforms and creates encounters with new ideas, cultures, experts, academics and students from around the world.

With 60 member universities, there is something for everyone to enhance their employability and broaden their global mindset.

Credit

The VSE Program is a not-for-credit experience. 

Upon completion of the experience, you may be eligible to apply for credit and will need to consult with your School or Faculty regarding this process. Credit transfer is not guaranteed. Faculty of Business, Economics and Law students should refer to the BEL Study Overseas Academic Considerations, as credit will not be granted unless pre-approved by IGET and the BEL Faculty.

Eligibility and application

To apply for a VSE academic course, you must:

  • be an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework student currently studying at UQ.
  • have a minimum cumulative GPA of 4.5 in your current UQ program
  • not be due to graduate before the completion of the VSE course completion
  • enrol in a maximum of one course in the VSE program
  • apply to a host university outside of Australia
  • be approved by UQ
  • be approved by the course offering university

Your course offering universities and specific courses may have additional academic and language proficiency requirements.

Once you have submitted your application to APRU VSE, please email your confirmation letter to iget@uq.edu.au.

    Cost

    There are no fees or associated costs to participate in an APRU VSE course.
