Volunteer: Add Credibility to your Career

Many employers are looking for well-rounded graduates who have more on their resume than just study. Volunteering is a great way to contribute to the community, enhance your employability, meet new people, and develop transferable workplace skills. It’s a win-win situation!

In 2017 the expo attracted 55 organisations (internal and external) and 1500 Students who were looking for ways to get ahead of the game. Organisations like the RSPCA, Conservation Volunteers Australia, UQ Volunteering and Woodford Folk Festival were present on the day promoting vacancies in their team in a variety of roles including adminstration, marketing, communications, management and more.

The Volunteer Expo is the perfect event for you to find out more about volunteer opportunities and how they can add value to your employability portfolio. The Event will give you the ability to speak directly with organisations about current volunteering opportunities and how you can get involved. It is a fantastic opportunity to gain industry-specific experience that is relevant to your study area and will challenge yourself both personally and professionally.

Come along to explore opportunities, get experience, improve your resume and develop your community spirit!  There will be entertainment and a number of freebies and giveaways on the day aswell.
