World Endeavors was founded in 2002 with the mission to transform lives through international education. The World Endeavors Virtual International Internship (VII) Program is a remote learning experience focused on career readiness and developing professional competencies carried out anywhere with internet access.

Application Instructions

All applicants must meet the UQ Internship Eligibility Criteria and any other criteria as outlined by the host organisation. Students are required to apply to both UQ and World Endeavors via the buttons below.

  1. Submit an application to the Internships and Global Experiences Team and
  2. Submit an application to World Endeavors 

Students will receive access to their Internships Workflow once their application is approved by the Internships and Global Experiences Team. 

Applications for Summer 2021/22 have now closed.

 

Costs & Inclusions

The cost of the program is USD $1,470 (approx. AUD $2, 031) for UQ students who are successfully placed within a World Endeavors Virtual International Internship Program. 

This includes the deposit of USD $500 which will only be requested following your initial program interview with a World Endeavors advisor and acceptance into the program. If students pay the deposit and enrol within 24 hours of acceptance, they will receive USD $50 off the final program fee.

World Endeavors also offer a USD $150 grant to all successful UQ students for this intake of virtual internships.

This cost includes:

  1. Customized virtual internship placement
  2. Minimum 24 hours of remote work experience per week
  3. Resume Clinic
  4. Interview Coaching
  5. CliftonStrengths Online Talent Assessment
  6. Dedicated Internship Advisor
  7. Pre-Internship Support and Cultural Training
  8. Certificate of Completion, Company Reference, and LinkedIn Recommendation
  9. Up to USD $750 discount on a future World Endeavors program

Funding

Funding is not guaranteed even if all selection criteria are met. Funding should not be a factor when developing your budget and should only be considered supplementary financial support if awarded. 

Applicants will be considered for only one grant per application round.

New Colombo Plan Virtual Mobility Grant

Eligible students are considered for one of five AUD $1,800 New Colombo Plan Virtual Mobility Grants for World Endeavors: Virtual International Internships in Thailand

When you submit your application to the Internships and Global Experiences team, you are automatically considered. There is no additional application required. Applicants will need to submit supporting documentation (host acceptance, bank details) by the relevant deadline. 

This grant is not guaranteed even if all selection criteria are met. Students who are due to graduate at the end of semester 2, 2021 will not be eligible for this grant. 

Widening Participation Grant & Short-term Experiences Grant

When you submit your application for an internship, you are automatically considered for funding that is relevant to your nominated experience. Please refer to the Short-Term Experiences Funding page for details.

Credit for Internships

Some students may be able to receive credit towards their UQ program pending faculty approval. The Internships and Global Experiences Team is unable to provide further advice regarding internships for credit. If you are interested in seeking credit, please refer to the Credit for Internships page for more specific details
