They connect students directly to host companies with their virtual internship opportunity, offering student flexibility, and the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real working industry challenges, without the commitment of attending a workplace each day. All students are guaranteed online internship placement in one of their top career fields, and students can focus on one country or multiple countries for placement options.

Eligibility and application
All applicants must meet the UQ Domestic and Virtual Internship Eligibility Criteria and any other criteria as outlined by the host organisation. Students must apply to both UQ and Virtual Internship Partners Ltd via the links below.
Costs & Inclusions
AUD $1,500 for UQ students who are successfully placed within a program. (Standard rate is AUD $2,695)
UQ students must apply to both UQ and Virtual Internship Partners and included the discount code UQ2021 to receive the discounted rate.
This cost includes:
- Provision of work experience placement with a Host Company (All virtual internship positions are unpaid)
- Guaranteed Virtual International Internship in the country or career field of choice
- Dedicated Program Experience Manager to check-in weekly with interns
- Assigned Internship Coach to complete midpoint and end of program coaching calls with the delivery of Global Career Management Plan (GCMP) and Global Employability Certificate
- Access to CareerBridge, our Global Internship Curriculum walking students through resume creation, interview prep, time management, remote work and more.
- Weekly Group Discussions or Business Webinars covering a range of topical themes
- Full End of Program Report including supervisor evaluation, student assessment, and GCMP
Funding
New Colombo Plan Virtual Mobility Grant
Eligible students are considered for one of 10+ AUD$1,500 New Colombo Plan Virtual Mobility Grants for Virtual Internship Partners Internships in China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand & Vietnam.
When you submit your application to the Internships and Global Experiences team, you are automatically considered. There is no additional application required. Applicants will need to submit supporting documentation (host acceptance, bank details) by the relevant.
This grant is not guaranteed even if all selection criteria are met. Students who are due to graduate at the end of semester 1, 2021 will not be eligible for this grant.
Short-term Experiences Grant
When you submit your application to the Internships and Global Experiences team, you are automatically considered for a Short-term Experience Grant. There is no additional application required. Applicants will need to submit supporting documentation (host acceptance, bank details) by the relevant deadline.
This grant is not guaranteed even if all selection criteria are met. Students who are due to graduate at the end of semester 1, 2021 will not be eligible for this grant.
Credit for Internships
Some students may be able to receive credit towards their UQ program pending faculty approval. The Global Experiences Team is unable to provide further advice regarding internships for credit.
